Our Institute , in its endeavour to enlighten the budding lawyers on various facets of Law has taken an initiative to arrange for the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series. It seeks to promote scholarly discussion on contemporary legal topics amongst visiting scholars and students.
The 16th Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was organized on 26th of October 2024 at Shashwathi Auditorium, MKPM RVILS Campus. The Resource Person was Sri. Salem V. Subramaniam, Former Assistant Commissioner of Taxes & Advocate, Bengaluru and the programme was presided by Sri. N.R Nandish, Chairman, Governing Council, MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies & Trustee, RVEI, Bengaluru. The programme was also graced with the presence of our Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R.This program was organised to bring awareness about the practical aspects relating to Property Rights and was attended by all the students and staff of MKPM RVILS
The 15th Lecture of the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was held on 22nd July, 2024 in Shashwathi Auditorium, MKPM RVILS Campus. The Guest Speaker for the day was Sri. S. R. Somasekhara, Retired District Judge, Bengaluru. Sir delivered a lecture on the topic of “Civil Trial” and covered various aspects of it including ubi jus ibi remedium, civil rights, provisions of the CPC, etc.
Sri Udaya Holla, Senior Counsel and Former Advocate General of Karnataka inaugurated the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series along with Dr. M.P. Shyam , President of RV Educational Institutions, Bengaluru and Dr. Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RV Institute of Legal Studies, Bengaluru on 6th August, 2022 at Shashwathi Auditorium. Followed which, Sri. Udaya Holla delivered the inaugural lecture on “Advocacy: It’s Challenges and Prospects”, igniting the young minds on practical aspects of legal profession.
2nd lecture of Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Mr. Hemanth Kumar V., Faculty, Department of Forensic Science, Jain (Deemed-to-be- University) on the topic "Deciphering the Mind of the Criminal: Importance of Criminology” as a part of Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series on 24th August, 2022, at Shashwathi Auditorium.
Sri Y.G. Muralidharan, Founder Trustee, Consumer Rights Education and Awareness Trust, Bengaluru, delivered the 3rd lecture on the topic "RTI as a Tool to Promote Good Governance" as a part of Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series on 7th September, 2022, at Shashwathi Auditorium.
4th Lecture as a part of Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Prof. Chaitra M.S., Associate Professor, Chanakya University, Bengaluru, on the topic "Law in India: Some Reflections" on 13th September, 2022.
The 5th Lecture as part of the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Shri. Shridhar Prabhu, Advocate and Member, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, on the topic "The Non-Human Rights" on 03/12/2022.
The 6th Lecture as part of the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Dr. M.K. Ramesh, Professor of Law and Former Vice Chancellor, NLSIU Bengaluru, on the topic "Law as Life" on 12/12/2022.
The 7th Lecture as part of the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Sri Hashmath Pasha, Senior Counsel, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru, on the topic "An Overview of Criminal Litigation" on 24/12/2022.
The 8th Lecture as part of the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Dr. M.K. Nagaraja (Retd. IPS ), Former Principal , M.S. Ramaiah Law College and Professor, NLSIU, Bengaluru, on the topic "Paradigm Shifts in Evidentiary Regime" on 24/12/2022. The event was graced by Sri. M.K. Dattaraj, Trustee, RSST and Prof. Dr. Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS.
The 9th Lecture as part of the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Sri Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament, Bengaluru South, on the topic "Involvement of Youth in Law and Politics" on 21st June, 2023.
The 10th Lecture as part of the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Sr. Vikram Huilgol, Senior Advocate, Bengaluru, on the topic "Judicial Review and Separation of Powers" on 24th June, 2023.
The 11th Lecture as part of the Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Sri. Abhinav Ramanand, Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru on the topic "Advent and Role of Commercial Courts in India" on 9th December, 2023.
The 12th Lecture as part of Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Sri. V. Sudhish Pai, Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru on the topic “Constituent Power: Basic Structure Doctrine in Indian Constitutional Law” on 30th December, 2023.
The 13th Lecture as part of Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Sri. K.J. Kamath, Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru on the topic “Championing, Pleading and Upholding” on 6th January, 2024.
The 14th Lecture as part of Nyaya Darpana Lecture Series was delivered by Prof. D.Y. Kulkarni, Retd. Principal, R.L. Law College, Belgaum on the topic “The Genesis of Israeli-Palestine Conflict – An International Perspective” on 8th February, 2024.
